Our Scottish salmon suppliers sometimes ask us to help them out when the supermarkets don't buy as much as they expected. We are happy to oblige and occasionally we get a lot of reasonably priced salmon. These fish are too small to produce into portions so we freeze them quickly to offer to our customers. They do vary in weight but generally they will be in the 2-3lbs range, perfect for cooking 'on the bone' - simples.
Whole red mullet as it comes from the sea. The fish have a tender and flavoursome flesh, wonderful on the bar-b-que.
The monk fish, often known as angler fish has got to be the ugliest fish we sell. Thankfully you can only buy the skinless tails here on our site. The centre bone has been removed giving just pure meat ready for the pan.
We sell catering packs of frozen fillets skin on and pin bone in. These are packed in a 10lbs carton and the fillet size is usually 8-10ozs or bigger. This is the most economical way of buying cod, haddock, plaice and lemon sole as fresh is usually priced higher.
These large frozen sardines are caught off the coast of Portugal when the fat content is just right. Individually quick frozen so you can take what you want from the 1kg bag. Look out for fresh supplies which we receive during the summer months, great on the BBQ.
